The PgCert Osteopathic Sports Care provides osteopaths a structured pathway that leads to a formal qualification.The programme will provide knowledge and skills required for the management of sporting injuries within clinical practice and on-field.A wide range of osteopathic approaches will be included and the faculty comprises of experienced osteopaths who work within the sports care field.

University of Plymouth open days
You are also very welcome to attend a University of Plymouth open day, to get a flavour of the courses you can progress to from a partner college. There will however be limited information on this specific course and college.
Assessments
Learning outcomes will be assessed via:
a) Coursework essay: For example: Critically review your management of a sporting injury – 1000 word essay, fully referenced.
b) Viva Voce: A 20-30 minutes viva voce when candidates will be requested to demonstrate their knowledge and skills. For example: case-history taking skills, taping/strapping.
c) Work-based learning/reflective log: You will be required to complete 50 hours of observation/shadowing of experienced sports care practitioners and log their experience. This log will be assessed and will be awarded either a pass or refer.
